New BMW 650i Convertible

The new BMW 650i Convertible is powered by a 400 horsepower 4.4-liter V-8 engine which makes peak torque of 450 lb-ft between 1,750 and 4,500 rpm and is mated to an 8-speed Sport Automatic transmission. In what is surely a sign of the times, Hyundai will be represented by a slew of customized cars at the 2010 SEMA Show, which runs from November 2 to 5. For the creation of this nicely done example of the 2011 Sonata Turbo, Hyundai teamed up with RIDES and 0-60 magazines. According to the South Korean automaker, the customized Sonata Turbo's styling was inspired by Ferrari, Mercedes and Porsche models.

"The Sonata Turbo is an ideal platform for us to bridge the worlds of performance, aesthetics, luxury, technology and style," said Ben Harris, executive publisher, RIDES and 0-60 magazines. "The design we've chosen will accentuate the car's lines and style, using influences from exotic supercars."
The designers claim to have used styling cues from the four-door Brabus Mercedes CLS Rocket for the car's exterior modifications, which combine a matte pearl white paint with a set of blacked out 20-inch wheels, custom LED fog lights, and a slew of carbon fiber parts including the roof, grill, side mirrors and rear diffuser.

Dodge Race-Ready 2010 Viper SRT10 ACR-X

Today, Dodge unveiled the third limited, special-edition version of the soon-to-be-discontinued Viper SRT10 sports car, dubbed ACR-X. Based largely upon the Viper SRT10 ACR, the new model is a turn-key, non-street legal, racer that's powered by a tweaked version of the standard Viper's 8.4-liter V10 that gains new headers and a low-restriction exhaust system, increasing output by 40HP to 640 horsepower.
The Viper SRT10 ACR-X's suspension has been upgraded and tuned specifically for track usage, while the sport car's weight is lightened by 160 pounds (73 kg) over the standard production model.

Dodge said that the car also features additional aerodynamic upgrades to improve downforce as well as to enhance stability and grip in high-speed cornering.

As a track racer, the Viper ACR-X comes with all the usual factory-installed safety equipment such as a factory-designed roll cage, fuel cell and race seat.

Dodge said that during a testing session of the ACR-X at Laguna Seca raceway last month, professional driver Kuno Wittmer from the SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge Touring Car Championship series, was able to run consistent 1:31.00 lap times around the 2.238-mile, 11-turn course.

This means that Wittmer's lap times were more than 3 seconds faster than the street-legal Viper SRT10 ACR which holds the production car track record at Laguna Seca raceway.

"The Dodge Viper ACR-X is incredible," said Wittmer. "After a short warm up, I was running lap times as quick as exotic GT race cars. I was blown away by the power and acceleration, and even more surprised at how the ACR-X navigated the challenging Laguna Seca corners and how friendly it was to drive at the limit."

The limited production 2010 Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR-X will go on sale in the States in Spring 2010 with prices starting from around $110,000.

Audi R8 Dione Sport Cars 2010

SR Auto Group made quite a passion for the Audi R8. First they revealed the R8 V10 Project Valkyrie and then the Project Pur R8 ’Phantom’. And now they came with a new package based on the German sports car. This time it is called "Dione ."

The exterior package includes: PPI Razor carbon fiber front grill, PPI Razor carbon fiber front lip, PPI Razor carbon fiber GTR wing and PPI Razor carbon fiber side skirts. And of course do not forget the amazing exterior paint: Matte Finish with Jet Blue Metallic. The car sits on 20" Volk Racing VRG2 wheels.

As for the car’s performances, SR Auto Group added a new RSC exhaust system, but they did not reveal if this will improve in any way the engine’s performances.

So, until now the tuner updated the R8 coupe version, in both V10 and V8 versions. We guess that next on their list is the Spyder version.

Anyone who loves a finely tuned automobile should be in attendance at the upcoming SEMA Show. This particular show creates a tuning atmosphere that can be appreciated by just about anyone, but can be truly heavenly to the avid enthusiasts that look for ways to enhance a car’s styling, functionality, comfort, convenience, and safety. I may be difficult to choose a crowd favorite amidst the growing number of improved models, but one vehicle may just be our favorite so far. Meet the special Dodge Challenger SRT8 customized by CULT Energy Drink.

A feast for the eyes, this Challenger looks the part of an aggressively mean car prepared to take out anyone that may get in its way. One of the only details we know about the car is that it features a one-off, hand-fabricated wide body kit that provides some extra girth to the already masculine car. It also does not run on racing fuel.

We can’t imagine that a car that looks like this doesn’t carry an equally insane motor to push out astronomical power. It is rumored that this Challenger is carrying a 5.7L V8 HEMI with its intake manifold, clearly, popping out of the car’s hood. To say that we are excited to see the Cult’s newest project at this year’s SEMA show is as much of an understatement as we can possibly muster. This car is simply badass and it’s one that could be perfectly suited for a next generation Mad Max!

Hyundai i20 Sport Cars Edition

Brabus is famous for tuning German models, and it usually goes for sportiness and luxury. But this time the German tuner went in a totally new and unexpected direction. The German tuner, in close cooperation to Hyundai developed the special edition i20 Sport.

The exterior package includes: body-colored front skirt and wheelarch flares to the exterior, while a glossy radiator grille mesh insert, black bezel headlights and daytime running lights are also introduced. The car’s sporty appearance is completed with the inclusion of a glossy B-pillar, smoked windows, dark red tinted rear lights and 17-inch Brabus alloy wheels with Yokohama tires.

On the interior the tuner added Orange leather Recaro seats, a black leather gearshift cover with orange-colored seams, a chrome gear shift knob, a leather-wrapped center console, leather-covered door panels, and a 7-inch touch screen navigation all bring added verve to the driving experience.

Tuning Cars 2012 Nissan GT-R facelift

Nissan made quite an interesting move at the Paris Auto Show. They brought the 2012 Nissan GT-R, showed it to the press and put an official image of the car o their press page. What about the official details? They will be revealed in the next two weeks.

So, what we can tell you is something you already now: the facelift GT-R will get a restyled front bumper that improves the GT-R’s aerodynamic performance from 0.272 to 0.268. A redesigned rear diffuser also improves the rear downforce with almost 10%. Also new for 2012, the Nissan GT-R gets two new exterior colors: Aurora Flare Blue Pearl (color code RAY) and Nebula Opal Black (color code GAG). Also, it is rumored that the GT-R will deliver a total of 500 HP.

The new GT-R will go on sale in 2011 and will be offered in all major markets: Europe, USA and Japan.
